In our Gatherings we want to create an atmosphere of trust and a welcoming environment for all. A space where we can listen and share in an open and vulnerable way. To learn, explore and grow together. Each of us contributes in creating this space, by how we speak and listen. So we agree on some Community Guidelines.
In our Gatherings, we want to speak:
- with Non-Violence - refraining from judging, blaming, or trying to fix each other
- with Good Intentions - from a place of compassion and kindness
- Saying “Yes AND” rather than “Yes BUT”. This practice acknowledges and honors the existence of multiple realities.
- from Our Own Experiences - using “I” rather than “you” statements.
- Owning our experience acknowledges that we are speaking about personal perspectives & learnings, and that those are different for everyone.
- Mindfully - ensuring all voices are heard
- If you often speak a lot, be mindful and move back a bit to give others some space to speak. If you usually don’t speak as much, you are invited to share a bit more. Anyone may say “I pass” if you don’t wish to speak.
And we want to listen:
- with Presence - giving others the gift of being heard and witnessed, uninterrupted
- with Interest & Curiosity - being open to and accepting of different views and ready to learn.
- with Joy - appreciating the beautiful connections we form through mindful conversation
The guidelines are an invitation to practice! Nobody’s perfect and that’s ok.
We all agree to confidentiality. What is shared in the Gatherings will not be shared with others outside of this circle.
If you ever feel uncomfortable or have a conflict with another member please reach out to a facilitator anytime.
